A equipe da pesquisa tamb\u00e9m realizou uma an\u00e1lise estrutural e caracteriza\u00e7\u00e3o da forma cristalina rec\u00e9m-identificada. Embora a indometacina seja objeto de pesquisa farmac\u00eautica h\u00e1 anos, a descoberta de um novo polimorfo \u00e9 um evento extremamente raro, fazendo com que essa descoberta seja altamente significante tanto para a cristalografia quanto para as pesquisas farmac\u00eauticas.<\/p>\n<p xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1999\/xhtml\">\nOs polimorfos cristalinos s\u00e3o estruturas cristalinas diferentes formadas pelo mesmo composto qu\u00edmico, resultando em varia\u00e7\u00f5es nas propriedades, como solubilidade e estabilidade. As diferen\u00e7as entre os polimorfos s\u00e3o um tema importante de pesquisa no desenvolvimento farmac\u00eautico, visto que afetam a qualidade do f\u00e1rmaco e a capacidade de fabrica\u00e7\u00e3o. Espera-se que o polimorfo rec\u00e9m-descoberto aprofunde o entendimento em futuras pesquisas farmac\u00eauticas.<\/p>\n<p xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1999\/xhtml\">\nA an\u00e1lise estrutural nesse projeto de pesquisa foi realizada usando o m\u00e9todo MicroED com o XtaLAB Synergy-ED, difrat\u00f4metro de el\u00e9trons totalmente integrado, desenvolvido em conjunto pela Rigaku e pela JEOL Ltd. O polimorfo rec\u00e9m-descoberto consistiu de cristais extremamente pequenos, medindo menos de um micr\u00f4metro, tornando a an\u00e1lise estrutural dif\u00edcil ao usar m\u00e9todos de difra\u00e7\u00e3o de raios X convencionais. Ao aproveitar a tecnologia MicroED, a equipe de pesquisa determinou com sucesso a estrutura cristalina da nova forma <i>\u03ba<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1999\/xhtml\">\nAl\u00e9m disso, a an\u00e1lise dos arranjos moleculares dentro do cristal revelou intera\u00e7\u00f5es intermoleculares que contribuem para a estabilidade do polimorfo.
